Sweep!

Great game by the Buccos today to sweep the Reds!

Random thoughts…

• Starling Marte is the real deal.  If he can produce all year at a high level and Pedro come close to at least replicating last season, this team will contend.
  
• Marte is a better fielder than the one who missed the cut-off guy on his throw in allowing a run to score.
• Travis Snider was robbed on that HR… err… double.
• Fort McKenry probably earned a little more playing time after blasting those two HRs.  That one to center was a mammoth HR.
• I like today’s lineup the best, although teams will prefer to have Walker bat right-handed in tight situations.  So his being placed between Garrett Jones and Pedro doesn’t do much to dissuade a LHP from entering the game.
• At least Pedro is drawing walks if not hitting at all.  He has been smooth with his defense too.
• Phil Irwin struggled, but he battled and gave the team some innings.
• The bullpen might be one of the best in baseball now that Leroux has been sent down.
• I was glad to see a Red get plunked by a heater.
• Excited to be one game behind the first-place Cardinals with them coming to town.
