.500? Yay!!!!!

I’m so excited the Pirates have won four games in a row to reach .500.  Fans of other teams might roll their eyes at that sort of statement, but it is my reality.  When you purchase the Extra Innings year after year with little hope of watching more wins than losses, you jump at a chance at 50/50.

The most invigorating thing is the hope that this will really continue.  Pedro Alvarez at cleanup, Andrew McCutchen showing he is one of the best players in baseball, James McDonald becoming a staff ace, Erik Bedard and A.J. Burnett solidifying the rotation, and arguably the best bullpen in baseball.  Jeff Karstens will be back at some point to bolster the rotation further.  With the myriad of potential closers on the team, the Bucs will be buyers at the trade deadline and might be able to move a reliever for the missing link to a playoff berth.
