Wow, was that a rough series. Nothing like the poor Buccos traveling to an AL city for their comeuppance. I went to the first game in the series and was excited when we jumped out to the lead. It was also fun to get a “Let’s go Bucs” chant going during the early part of the game. But then the bottom fell out.
Nice ballpark though. Wide selection of beers from Nati’ Bo’ to Stella Artois. Stella 16 oz. for only $10. You can get a 24 oz. Bud, Bud Lime, Bud Light, or Ultra for $10, or 16 oz. Coors Light or Miller Lite for $8. After about six, my emotions were in check enough to just sit back and take it all in. Take in all the beer that is. Ten. Or so my wife tells me as she was so kind to keep count.
As of right now, we are not a very good team.
But, this is a glass half full blog, so… the good news is we face some of the worst teams in the AL during this inter-league road trip and have a chance to take the series in Cleveland with our two best pitchers going to the mound in James McDonald and A.J. Burnett. Hopefully the vote of confidence in Brad Lincoln might get him to be more aggressive and let it all loose – endurance be damned. Pitching still is the least of my worries with Karstens returning soon. I believe they can be competitive. But the offense needs to find some basic competency outside of Andrew McCutchen. I don’t know if there is a current Bucco fielder outside of Clutch that would start for another team right now.
Glass can’t be half full right now because I drank all the contents in Baltimore.
